Support CSM Through CFC #1149

What do federal employees and Christian Stewardship Ministries have in common? CFC or the Combined Federal Campaign. In 1999, for the first time, CSM is eligible to receive donations from federal employees through their annual charity drive, the Combined Federal Campaign. Many thanks to Tom Connor who helped the ministry negotiate the detailed and time-consuming process to get on the list.

If you work for Uncle Sam or serve in the armed forces and you "give at the office," put down 1149 to designate CSM to receive all or part of your CFC gift. Giving by payroll deduction is easy, and your donations add up quickly. Just $15 every two weeks yields $390 each year or $20 per month will send $240 to CSM to help men and women struggling to get their finances and priorities in line with God's plan. A little from you can mean a lot to those CSM is seeking to help. So, if you're a federal employee, remember 1149 for CSM.

You can also give through the United Way. Just write in the amount of your gift on the United Way form along with Christian Stewardship Ministries, 10523 Main Street, Fairfax, Virginia 22030.

Kingdom Investments

by Ed Britton

Many friends and supporters of CSM are holding highly appreciated securities (i.e., stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc.). Perhaps you are reluctant to "cash in" when the market hits an unusually high point because you are concerned about tax and transaction costs.

Did you know that you could give these securities to CSM and get a full tax deduction on federal and state taxes for the current highly appreciated market value and avoid all taxes and transaction costs and fees? It's possible and both you and CSM can benefit.

Please call the CSM office at 703-591-5000 to get more details and discuss your specific situation. You can help CSM meet ministry needs in a way that makes financial sense for you. Get the facts and then decide what God would have you do.
