Ministry News
Hats off to the cookout committee! More than 100 members of the CSM family joined us at Ed and Dottie Britton's on June 12. The weather was great, and we had a wonderful time. If you missed it, you'll have another chance to share in the fun with our October 16 Bowl-a-thon. See details in the enclosed flyer and mark your calendar today. 1149--that's the number to remember. No, CSM hasn't picked the next lottery winner. But 1149 is a special number. CSM is now on the list to receive donations through the Combined Federal Campaign, and our number is 1149. So, if you're a federal employee, please designate 1149 for all or part of your CFC contribution. CSM's Internet Life Management Study is growing. Fourteen students from seven states and Great Britain have registered. You can register directly on the CSM website, http://csmin.org. The cost is $150. Or if you live in the Washington area, you can sign up for our regular classes, which begin the week of September 13 and cost $95. Kudos and Thanks Many thanks to the CSM cookout committee chaired by Clint and Becky Smith. More than 100 members of the CSM family enjoyed the June 12 event hosted by Ed and Dottie Britton thanks to the hard work of committee members, including Joe Grieco, Jocelyn Hamilton, Chuck Henry, Laura Mullins, Paul Reeves, Ruth Shane and George Trainum. The ministry also appreciates the ongoing support of the Fairfax Best Western (formerly the Fairfax City Holiday Inn) where the CSM Advisory Committee has been meeting for 15 years. New general manager Ajay Kapur has promised to continue this tradition. We encourage nearby CSM supporters to contact him to schedule functions or take a "local vacation." Just call 703-591-5500. Kudos also to Paula and Tirian Wilson, Andy Wen and D.J. Chuang for their work on CSM's Internet version of the Life Management Study. Thanks also to Jeffrey Benya, producer of the LMS promotional video. Sign Up for LMS This September! It's about time to get your life in order, and CSM's Life Management Study can help. Use the enclosed registration form to sign up today for classes beginning the week of September 13 in churches in the Washington metro area. The LMS will help you put overcommitment, procrastination and chronic tardiness in the past and bring peace and patience into your future. Get your priorities straight and your life in sync with God's plan for you. LMS participants meet with a trained leader for 13 two-hour weekly sessions and spend 20 to 30 minutes each day on homework. Your $95 registration fee ($75 for groups of four or more) includes a student manual, workbook and a copy of Ken Smith's book It's About Time. Partial scholarships are available. Too far to drive? Let your fingers do the walking and take LMS via the Internet for $99 [discounted from regular price of $150]. Visit the CSM website at http://csmin.org for details. Or call the CSM office directly at (703)-591-5000.
