Roll a Strike for CSM

Saturday, October 16

Fairfax Circle Bowl America

Come one, come all to CSM's third annual Bowl-a-thon! This is your opportunity to have a great time and raise money for a great cause. Join your CSM friends in friendly competition to support the ministry.

You'll be eligible to win free bowling games and trophies, tickets to children's activities, free dinners and overnight and weekend getaways. You'll have an opportunity to compete against other teams and individuals. But most of all you'll be having fun while raising funds to keep CSM reaching out to people who need help getting their lives and finances in order. To participate, you just need to line up $500 in sponsorships using the forms enclosed.

We hope to raise $10,000 as each bowler gathers sponsors at $10 to $100 per sponsor. Bowl yourself, bring your kids or grandchildren and recruit your friends. The CSM Bowl-a-thon is an easy way to help CSM raise the funds needed to serve others. Plus you'll enjoy bowling, prizes and free pizza and sodas. For more details, see the enclosed brochure or call the CSM office at (703)591-5000.

Get Help Today!

Caught in the middle of a time crunch? Overburdened with responsibility? Crushed by debt?

Don't delay. Call CSM today to get the personal counseling that can help put your life and your finances in order.

By telephone or in person, you can work directly with Ken Smith to find God's plan for you and begin to turn your life around. Don't just wait for things to get better–take a positive step that can really make a difference. You'll find that CSM's practical approach, based on sound Biblical principles, will guide you toward the peace and freedom God has promised to those who seek Him.

Call (703)591-5000 or email the ministry at ken@csmin.org to arrange for your confidential one to two-hour counseling session. A $50 deposit will hold your appointment but can be returned to you at your session. Counseling is free, although the ministry depends on those it helps to enable it to help others.

Share Your Gain Without Pain

From time to time CSM receives a gift of stocks. This can benefit both CSM and the donor when tax time rolls around.

If your stocks have appreciated substantially, it makes good financial sense to give CSM a tax-deductible gift of stock rather than cash. Here's why. Say you bought stock for $1,000, and it's now worth $5,000. If you donate it to CSM, you will receive a tax deduction for the full $5,000.

If, on the other hand, you decided to sell the stock and give cash to the ministry, you would pay a capital gains tax of 20 percent or $800 and have only $4,200 to donate. This makes stocks an easy and practical gift to give. And your gift will keep on giving as those the ministry serves learn to manage their resources effectively so that they can support the ministry in the future.

You may also want to consider CSM when you update your will. For more information on donating stocks or giving a final gift to the ministry, contact the CSM office at 703-591-5000.
