"Do
not those who plot evil go astray? But those who plan what is good find
love and faithfulness." Proverbs 14:22
"Do everything in love." I Corinthians 16:14 This Class is for Life! Organize, prioritize and memorize! Get wise in the ways of the Word and get your life in sync with God’s plan for you. This fall is a great time to put procrastination on hold and reorder your priorities through CSM’s Life Management Study. January may be the first of the year, but everyone knows the psychological beginning point is September. It’s a great time to learn new things. Don’t let this opportunity for a fresh start pass you by! Graduate from the 13-week LMS course with a better understanding of God’s plan for your life and some tools and strategies to help you make time for the things that are really important. Classes begin the week of September 14 at churches in the Washington metro area. You can sign up on the enclosed registration form or contact the CSM office directly at (703)-591-5000 to reserve a place in an LMS class. Ken Smith will lead a pastors’ group, and groups for both women and men are meeting at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. LMS participants meet with a trained leader for 13 two-hour weekly sessions and spend 20 to 30 minutes each day on homework. Course materials include a copy of Ken Smith’s book It’s About Time, a student manual and workbook, worksheets and a certificate. The cost of the course is $95. If distance is a problem, consider taking the LMS via Internet, where it will soon be available. Visit the CSM website at http://www.csmin.org for more information. Money Management Seminars Return Most seminars about money teach people how to make it or invest it. CSM's seminar helps people manage their money from a Biblical perspective. If you have trouble living within your means or finding the funds to give to the Lord, then this seminar is for you. Invest a Saturday morning at a Washington-area church with Larry J. Hoffman, CPA and CSM volunteer teacher. Those few hours could be the beginning of financial freedom. Seminars are offered free of charge, funded through contributions of participants received during the session. Following the money management class, those who wish may meet with CSM representatives for one-on-one contribution-based counseling. Churches: Call CSM for information on how to schedule a money management seminar at your church. Making a Final Money Management Plan Do you know how your assets will be allocated when you die? Would you like your will to distribute your possessions in line with God's plan? Come learn about "The Power of Giving" in CSM's new estate planning seminar. Scheduled for September 19th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Truro Episcopal church, this two-hour session will put you on the that to becoming a good steward of your earthly possessions. Developed by attorneys Roger McClure and Austin Doyle, the seminar will cover Biblical directives as well as U.S. tax incentives to help you ensure that your assets provide for your family and benefit God's kingdom also. If you plan well, it is possible to give more and see that your heirs receive more. Call the CSM office at 703-591-5000 for details and to register for this informative session. A contribution of $25 per person is suggested to cover costs.
