D.J. Chuang: Fishing on the Net

CSM's website manager, D.J. Chuang, helps the ministry fish among those who surf the Net. Chuang learned of CSM through the Christian BusinessMen's Committee ten years ago, soon after he graduated from college.

Since then, he attended Dallas Seminary and served two years as a youth pastor. Now back in Northern Virginia as a part-time pastor at Ambassador Bible Church, a new multiethnic congregation in Falls Church, he reconnected with CSM. As the website manager, he keeps the CSM homepage looking spiffy and sees that the latest announcements and issues of Glad Tithings are posted on the site (http://www.csmin.org).

"Whatever we do professionally, our faith is seen through our diligent effort and quality of work, because we work as unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23)," Chuang says. Although he is still in the process of discerning his role in the body of Christ, Chuang knows he wants to be a part of what God is doing among Asian Americans, particularly those who are part of the second and third generations.

Chuang's greatest challenge is to learn how to manage his resources effectively-to learn to be a good steward. "On the one hand, I feel very affirmed that God can use me in the work of His kingdom, but on the other hand, I'm having to learn how to discern how best I can use my time and energy, and to even decline some great opportunities," he says.

Chuang and his wife Rachelle live in Vienna, Va., with their one-year-old son Jeremiah.

From It's About Time Readers

Dear Ken,

...Last January 1997, I was trying to get organized for the new year (as usual) and my friend Tammy directed me to your book It's About Time. Well, I bought the book and started reading it but found myself trying to skip through the parts about the importance of God in our lives. I didn't need all THAT, I just wanted to get organized! Needless to say, I never got organized, and my life was even more of a turmoil than before!

...In December of this year, I began a Christian rebirth through the help of two other friends also going through rebirth. During this time, the Lord led me to your book that had been sitting on the night stand all year long. I just picked it up and started reading and was so inspired and blessed by it that I gave each of my friends a copy for Christmas. We all have rededicated our lives to Christ and are on an awesome journey of discovering God's plan for our lives. (One even quit smoking!)

At first, I was so overwhelmed by all the areas of my life that needed "fixing," and I just didn't know where to start, but through my daily time with God, He let me know that I didn't have to do ANYTHING but listen and follow His direction. The Lord let me know that the FIRST thing I needed was a daily schedule. I went to the chapter in the book about a daily schedule and followed your instructions for establishing a daily schedule. I cannot even begin to express in words how my life has changed with a daily schedule. I established duties and chores for my children and created a daily checklist for them to use to help them stay on track. It has worked beautifully, and they LOVE it. It has made a difference in my entire family-there is peace that has never been there before.

Last year, my friend Tammy talked to you about the Life Management Study course, and she received the Student Manual....there is not a trained leader in our area, and you instructed her to go through the course on her own and possibly get certified as a trainer...Tammy and I would like to complete the course together and have committed every Thursday night for the next 12 weeks to achieving this.

....Thanks so much, your ministry is truly a blessing!
