Ministry News
Plan now to join CSM supporters to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the ministry and the second year of our LMS program on October 17 at the home of Mark and Nancy Siljander in Great Falls, Virginia. The evening will feature Rickey Bolden, pastor of Southeast Community Church in Washington, D.C., and formerly a linebacker for the Cleveland Browns. There will be an opportunity to contribute to the ministry. We're excited about the ongoing success of our contribution-based counseling program and the new Life Management Study groups that will be starting soon. We praise God for the LMS group of 16 that has been meeting this summer in Fairfax County Jail. Fifty bowlers in the July 12 CSM Bowl-a-thon raised more than $7,500 for the ministry. Gold winners included Frank Cerutti, Bud Roeder and Ken Smith; silver were Gordon Klooster, John Reyle and Steve Gaskins; and in the bronze category were Rick Groux, Bruce Duerson, Myrna Harris and Krysti Doyle. Everyone had a great time bowling and eating pizza and Wanda Lewark's delicious homemade blackberry pie. Start practicing now and plan to join us for next year's event. Congratulations to Sharon Meisel, Advisory Council member of the quarter, and Ed Britton, Glad Tithings advertiser of the quarter. We appreciate their ongoing faithful support and encouragement. Don't forget to check out CSM on the Internet at http://www.csmin.org. You should see Glad Tithings, information on our advertisers, notes about upcoming events and materials available from the ministry. Let us know what you think about the site. We are particularly interested in ideas that web surfers have for additional CSM information to include on the site. CSM Needs Wheels! CSM needs one or more cars for staff use. If you have a car in good condition that you no longer need, please consider donating it to CSM. The fair market value of any vehicles given to the ministry can be deducted from your income if you itemize deductions at tax time. CSM will be happy to provide a receipt. Please contact the office at (703) 591-5000 for further information.
