Ruth Shane: Organizing Around God's Schedule
Moving from Washington state to the Washington, D.C. metro area in 1995 to marry Fran Shane not only brought Ruth Shane closer to her new husband but closer to God as well. "I had always believed in God," Shane says now, "but it wasn't an every day kind of belief. I was struggling with my life, and I just asked God to come in and take over. The more I talked to God, the more He guided me." A consultant herself, Shane learned to consult with Jesus when she took CSM's Life Management Study course in the fall of 1996. "I have always been an organized person...but I soon learned that I needed to organize my life around God's schedule. That was the greatest lesson I learned from the LMS course. I learned how to consult with Jesus about every aspect of my life. I have never been freer or happier than I am now. I owe it all to my walk with Jesus, and I marvel at how CSM pointed me in the right direction." Today, Shane, a document coordinator for Litton's PRC consulting firm, has led her own LMS group. She also is editing the fourth edition of the LMS study guide. "This work," she said, "is such a blessing." She is quick to recommend the LMS class to everyone. "For only a few hours a week for 13 weeks, everyone can add a little quiet time, prayer time and Bible study time to their daily schedule. Take the class. You owe it to yourself, and your family deserves the blessing." Ruth and her husband Fran live in Reston, Virginia, and attend Truro Episcopal Church.
