"But from everlasting
to everlasting the LORD'S love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness
with their children's children..." Psalm 103:17
"Children's children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children." Proverbs 17:6 Life Management Study: Putting It All Together Unsure which direction to take? Too much to do and no time to do it in? Through CSM's Life Management Study, you can get help in discerning God's plan for your life and learning to manage your time effectively. LMS participants meet in small groups with a trained leader for two-hour sessions for 13 weeks and spend 20 to 30 minutes daily on their own completing worksheets, memorizing a verse of scripture, looking up answers to questions in the Bible and reading material included in the student manual. Course materials include a copy of Ken Smith's book It's About Time, a student manual and workbook, worksheets and a certificate. Course cost is $65. CSM will be starting another LMS series in April or May, including a class just for pastors. One busy minister who took the class last fall says, "I've found places where I was losing time, areas where any time spent was a waste of time and shortcuts in some areas that have helped. Most importantly, I am learning to put more time in planning and scheduling up front." To sign up, call the CSM office at (703) 591-5000. CSM Offers Guidance for Parents Support CSM and add to your storehouse of wisdom with Life's Little Instruction Book or CSM's tape "Becoming the Parent God Wants You to Be." Each costs $5 separately, or you can order both for $8, plus postage, by calling 1-800-IDL-TIME (435-8463) or 703-591-5000 in the Washington area. Life's Little Instruction Book contains "511 suggestions, observations and reminders on how to live a happy and rewarding life." Gems of wisdom include: "Don't expect money to bring you happiness." "Don't worry that you can't give your kids the best of everything. Give them your best." "Be cautious about lending money to friends. You might lose both." and "Tell your kids often how terrific they are and that you trust them." If you haven't yet reached grandparenting and you would like to tap into some of Ken Smith's hardwon parenting wisdom, try listening to "Becoming the Parent God Wants You to Be." In this series of five messages, Ken discusses how to meet the spiritual needs of your children and how to spend quality time with them. He offers ideas on helping children become good students and encouraging them to make wholesome friends. Finally, the tape provides some recommendations for guiding and praying for children as they make career and marriage decisions.
